Based on a conversation in Bulgaria I thought I would ask everyone reading this:

Would an angel call an angel an angel? Why?

Would a devil call a devil a devil? Why or why not?

Would an angel call a devil a devil? Why or why not?

Would a devil call an angel an angel? Why or why not?

from a purely categorical perspective, yes, they would call things what they are simply because an angel is what it is, and a devil is what it is.

However, I sense that this answer goes against the spirit of the question. I presume it should be read as would an angel [a winged creature who is good] call and angel [a winged creature who is good] an angel [someone who is morally righteous].
and similarly for the devil, there is the noun meaning the creature and the noun meaning someone who is evil.

In form of the question posed on the basis of morality, and good and evil. In the zeitgeist of modern times angels are exclusively used to represent the idea of "pure good" and devils represent "pure evil", in this case they would all call angels angels, and devils devils.
this is because pure good can identify pure good and not and not revel in their own goodness. They would also identify pure evil as such, since they understand that pure evil is irredeemably evil. Devils representing the concept of pure evil would identify angels as angels as a form of mocking, and they would identify themselves as devils because they glorify their own evil.
this would be the idealized answer.

If you don't believe in pure forms of good and evil, since they don't exist in our day to day life. Then as impure good and evil, the angels and devils would never identify with those terms. Angels would not want to seem vain and would feel guilty identifying as pure the concept of pure good, they would not call devils evil or devils because they would see the good in them and their motivations which aren't grounded in evilness. Devils wouldn't call angels angels since that would identify them as good and themselves as evil. They would not call each other devils because to impure evil, they understand their own motivations and would view themselves as good.

whether pure forms of good and evil exist in the cannon you are considering decides what angels and devils would categorize themselves and each other as.
