As I've mentioned before... Communism was never against opiates. It's simply the belief that God tortures people and ruins their food.
However, based on a book I had in Bulgaria, which I will quote in a bit... Saying that Religion is an opiate actually makes Communism seem stronger, not weaker.
Here is the text for you, keep in mind I think it would be normal human decency not to harm or imprison an innocent person for sharing completely fictional literature quotes translated into english from very Very old books.
"Afterwar A.D. 2246: God had a conversation with the Devil Belphegor in Heaven in front of a person who was very devoted, to see what they would decide is the right philosophy. "Something that causes people pain and then offers them gifts could only be called a Devil." There were more words but this summarizes it. Belphegor only had to reply with one sentence "What is Heaven to a human?" The words were used to critique the start of the conversation's topic.
[Modern Rephrased Text]
"Something that causes pain and tries to cheer people up after can only be a devil." Belphegor's reply "What is heaven?"
