@Guidodinho It's in US Law. Search for it a bit.

Not going searching for the one of the most retarded laws in the world.

Of course not. Nobody has the right to threaten or hurt you, for telling somebody about your feelings.
I don't know if its a jealous boyfriend or husband that beat you up, and I'm not saying you should go on a big path of vengeance, but you should not let that shit slide.
If you knew she was already in a commited relationship, then your confession could be a bit innapropriate, sure, but still no reason to get violent, if you haven't done anything foul.
But if that was indeed, the boyfriend or husband, you may want to look for a lady with a little better taste in men, in my humble opinion.

@Guidodinho Someone, about a decade ago, actually told me that people have the right to hit adults if society doesn't approve of two people's relationship, of two people being together. That's its in US law. I like to be discreet, so I only hinted it for those of you who know about that law. It might have been removed, a long time passed. Maybe the person who told me about it was lying. It's interesting because the few people who have heard that or read it somewhere, realize that we are a surf population, and even money from a career gives you absolutely nothing past the basic freedoms of buying food, paying rent or maint, paying bills, and buying coffee, in small quantities tobacco and alcohol, and buying lottery tickets.
